History of the Farm

Son of a Beach Family Farm is a six generation homestead dating back to 1901 in Monroe, WI.  My great great grandfather William purchased the farm in 1901.  In the early years the Beach’s were dairy farmers with hogs, horses, and chickens.  My great grandfather Jesse then continued the farming tradition through the Great Wars.  In 1955, the dairy herd was sold by my grandfather, Duane, in exchange for an Angus Cross beef herd.  Duane started the vision for what the farm is today with the beef cattle and hogs.

My father Paul came home in 1972 to take the farm over after serving in the United States Army after graduating from the University of Wisconsin.  Paul started to incorporate many of the practices that we still use on the farm today such as No-Till and cover crops. He maintained the Beef/Hogs and grain farming vision still represented today on the farm.
